Flight Management Systems
Glass transition training covers the specifics of moving from conventional flight instruments into an electronic flight information system (EFIS) world. This entails learning how information is displayed, where the raw data comes from and developing new scanning techniques to process this information, maintain situational awareness and stay ahead of the aircraft. The digital flight information display however is only one part of today’s Technically Advanced Aircraft cockpits.
Flight management training expands the process, encompassing all of the equipment that interacts to form today’s integrated cockpit environment. These individual courses address a wide range of products and services available in today’s TAA fleet including:
- Multi Function Displays (MFD)
- Flight Automation Systems (autopilots)
- Weather Displays Systems
- Radar and Lightning Detection Systems
- Satellite Data-link weather Systems
- Electronic Engine and Fuel Management
- Digital Com and Nav Radios
- GPS Navigation Systems
- Traffic Awareness and Avoidance Systems
- Terrain Awareness Systems
- Electronic Ground Proximity Warning Systems
- Electronic Moving Maps
- Electronic IFR Charts
The more equipment the airplane has, the more there is to learn in order to take fullest advantage of the equipment. Wright Aviation offers a range of manufacturer specific courses to help you get the most out of your investment and the intended improvements in reduced pilot workload and increase flight safety.
Each course includes a thumb drive with electronic versions of the pilot operating handbook and quick reference guide, where available a computer simulator for our unit and similar reference materials for the other equipment interacts with your FMS.
Training itself is a combination of ground classroom, ground in your airplane and flight training. Each program is tailored to meet your individual situation in order to provide you with the greatest value for your investment. What you already know and what you want to achieve are key factors.
Take advantage of the thousands of hours of TAA experience and customized training we offer to get up to speed in a way that works best for you.
