Recurrent Training
Annual Recurrent Training
Wright Aviation offers recurrent training in a variety of aircraft makes and models. All of our programs are modeled after the scenario based FITS training programs to ensure a well organized and productive training experience. Duration of specific training programs range from one to three days depending on the complexity of the make and model involved.
Recurrent training involves a combination of ground and flight instruction focused on safety issues and skill enhancement. Each training flight is conducted in a scenario based format and tailored to the individual pilot, pilot experience and typical missions flown to provide a real world training environment.
Progressive Recurrent Training
Progressive recurrent training is similar to the process employed in some aircraft maintenance programs. All of the elements normally contained in an annual recurrent training program are first defined and then grouped into a series of individual lessons. The pilot and instructor get together every two to three months and cover a portion of the annual recurrent program. The goal is to identify and reinforce those skills that are working well, correct any areas of weakness and introduce new materials as appropriate.
The greatest value is in the frequency of guided learning. Instead of loading up one training event, the information is divided into logical, bite size sections of information, giving you time to digest one section before moving on the next. You have a chance to make the information your own. There are also reinforcement opportunities including the flexibility to focus on areas with greater need by circling back in subsequent sessions. Using the “on condition” approach, the pilot and instructor are able to focus efforts on skill sets and knowledge areas needing attention. With less time between training events, negative processes are less likely to become engrained and more likely to be effectively dealt with.
